Sponsored Educational Packs
The notion of industry-sponsored educational packs has been around for a long time. The packs consist of educational material that meet National Curriculum or similar requirements, but which are supplied free of charge to the school. The packs also carry the sponsor's name.
Schools have been using and welcoming the free materials for years - from most schools there is no objection to the approach. Every year or two Radio 4 will run a short piece on Today or PM about the undue commercial influence in education through such materials, but the issue only lasts a day or two before it goes away again.
Free packs are part of the PR activity of larger companies who see a benefit in putting their name in front of teachers, parents and pupils - this is clearly not an approach that will appeal to the smaller firm. But if you are interested, please do call Hamilton House on 01536 399 000 to discuss this further.
