Public relations
Some companies run PR campaigns as the only type of promotion they do. Personally I think this is a mistake - PR is a great idea but it needs to be part of a promotional mix, alongside direct mail and other media.
Our aim is to take PR to a higher level. We do this through:
- Creating news stories from your product and then combining your press releases with direct mail. By doing this we are able to incorporate a trial mailing of a new mailshot every month, along with the release of your press material.
- Production of articles as well as press releases in order to give a broader range to your PR activity.
- Involving regional newspapers as well as educational magazines on a regular basis - they give excellent in-depth coverage and allow the development of partnership campaigns.
- Provision of our own news service to teachers - Education Management News - which naturally carries a lot of our press releases for our clients.
- Operation of the Schools Directory website and the School Procurement Website which are heavily promoted to schools and receive over 2000 hits a day from interested administrators, managers, parents and teachers.
- Continuous research projects and questionnaires using our database of over 3000 school managers who are willing to answer questions on all subjects for us.
- Free press cutting service for all our clients.
We've produced a complete website on PR - if you would like to find out more about our views and ideas on public relations when selling into education, please visit www.voom.org.uk
